Dear Friends,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Prov. 3:5,6)
What we “understand” to be the way to go is not always the “path” God has for us. We thought that by now Nancy would have had the first two eye surgeries and possibly the third. But, a wait for insurance to OK coverage, and then the surgeon’s heart attack (between surgeries he was performing!) and subsequent by-pass surgery have delayed our plans. These circumstances are out of our control. We have to “trust in the Lord” for His timing.
The dates have finally been scheduled for her first two surgeries: June 29 and July 13. These are on each eye separately and will each last four hours. There will be two incisions per eye and then some bone and tissue around the eye will be cut out to make room for the eye to return to its normal position.
We are enjoying ministries while we are here waiting. Gary is teaching the Story of Hope in the youth group at our church. Nancy is leading a ladies’ Bible study and singing in the choir and a ladies’ group.
We are also thankful that one of our supporting churches increased our support. It was such an encouragement to us.
