Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR A SERVICE?

We offer a 9:30am educational hour with programming for all ages.

  • Treehouse Sunday Mornings is designed for kids nursery through fifth grade.
  • The Relentless Guild is designed for students 6-12th.
  • Core Seminars are interactive classes designed for adults.

Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 am.

We recommend that you arrive at least 10–15 minutes before service starts so you have time to get a drink and connect with others before settling in. If you have children and this is your first visit, you will need a few additional minutes to register your child to help us get to know your child better.  The Treehouse Children’s Ministry opens 15 minutes prior to service time.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

From the moment you arrive to when you drive away, we hope you find us a warm and welcoming environment where you can discover God and his community. You can expect a friendly greeting and helpful assistance.  Our Sunday morning service lasts about 80-90 minutes.

The Sunday morning service opens with two venues; one in the Fireside Lounge and the other in the main auditorium. Each venue offers a different music and worship style. The Fireside Lounge offers a more traditional setting with hymns. The main auditorium offers more a modern style  performed by a worship band.

With a blend of modern worship, originals and hymns, we celebrate, sing and express a heart of gratitude to a loving God who desires to meet with us and hear from us. Song lyrics are on the screen and everyone is welcome to engage with God through times of prayer, singing and Scripture. We then combine in the auditorium for body life activities and the sermon.

There is no dress code at Sparta Baptist. Come dressed comfortably. Some people wear shorts and t-shirts. Others wear business casual.

DO I HAVE TO GIVE MONEY WHEN I VISIT?

You are never obligated or expected to give. If you are new to SBC, please enjoy the music and let the basket pass unless you would like to give. We don’t want something from you, rather something for you.  We hope that as people get involved and begin to connect with what God is doing at SBC, they are led to be generous and develop a plan to regularly invest financially.

WHO CAN HELP ME ANSWER MY QUESTIONS AT CHURCH?

We have many people ready to help. Stop by our Welcome Center or connect with a member of our Hospitality Team.  They are ready to answer your questions or help you find your way. During each service, you will also be given the opportunity to fill out a communication card and place it in the offering plate as a way to connect with SBC staff.
