1 Kings 11-14 tells the story of the kings Rehoboam and Jeroboam. Both of them made foolish and evil decisions based on embracing poor counsel and rejecting wise counsel. Talk about the variety of mistakes made by both Kings because of listening to the wrong counsel.
Respond: What our hearts most value sets the course for our lives.
Where you’ve set your heart is reflected in the things that are most important to you. Is your heart set on something worth seeking? In light of what you want, what do you need to choose to value?
What is your heart set on right now? How is it affecting the direction of your life? How do you think your life might be different if your heart was set on seeking God’s best for your life?
